History
The Native Indians saw the Eagle as a symbol for great strength, leadership and vision. As if to seemingly mirror this, the eagle has been used as a 'banner' by many of the great empires throughout history, from Babylon to Egypt, through to Rome and even the United States. In early Christianity the eagle was seen as a symbol of hope and strength, representing salvation. The eagle appears twice in the book of Revelation; both times in a context that suggests it is on the side of God. In Islam, the eagle represents warlike ferocity, nobility and dominion.
Symbolism and Power
The eagle is the chief over all the winged creatures. Eagle conveys the powers and messages of the spirit; it is man's connection to the divine because it flies higher than any other bird. The eagle brings the message of renewed life because it is associated with the east winds - the direction of spring, dawn and rebirth.
Overview
The EAGLE: The eagle is a symbol of power, healing and wisdom. The eagle represents enlightenment reached through inner work, understanding and reclaiming our personal power. Tenacity, clear vision and patience, living in balance with Spirit and Earth. Eagle connects one with Great Spirit, the Great Mystery, opening the soul to greater healing. It tells you that the universe is giving you the opportunity to fly above your life's worldly levels, or above the shadow of past realities, granting yourself permission to be free in order to reach all the joy that your heart desires and Spirit requires.
The Lesson
GOLDEN EAGLE MEDICINE FAN: In Native America, the Eagle is legendary for his great spiritual power. He sees in all directions including past and future. He is the guardian and the carrier of prayers from The People to their Maker; prayers of thanksgiving for what the Creator has given; prayers for Mother Earth, all her beauty, resources, and her goodness; thanks for their own life and the divinity of life in all earth's living creatures; unselfish prayers for all of earth's people that they may know the Red Road and keep their footsteps on it. Pictured with the eagle is a Medicine Fan you will see a medicine man sending prayers with smoke and the Eagle.
The GOLDEN EAGLE in the Native American tradition is the great warrior and hunter, the most highly respected and scared of birds. Soaring high, he delivers prayers of The People to the Great Spirit, returning with gifts and visions. To many, he is the Keeper of the East from whence comes dawn and illumination of darkness. This Golden Eagle is surrounded by a symbolic Sacred Hoop, decorated with tipis and the moon. The Eagle's keen eyes see in all directions, knowing both future and past. Smoke from the sage and sweet grass is seen hanging on the hoop, like the Eagle, carries messages to the Creator. Should a feather from the Golden Eagle fall to the earth, it must be claimed by one who is worthy of such a sacred and honored possession, such as a holy man, a warrior or a medicine man who would use it for healing.

Many shamans, psychic healers, mystics and mediums have Eagle medicine either as a primary totem or can call upon one as needed. They can see clear through to the core reason for any type of imbalance and then they can spot the proper medicine needed to heal the imbalance.
The lesson of the eagle is to take a look from where it sees. You must have the courage to relinquish stale and comfortable habits and beliefs to soar into unknown realms and new realities - continually expanding your view. Now is the time to take full responsibility for your life and be prepared for instant destiny. As your spiritual awareness increases, the positive and negative ramifications will become more immediate and have greater force.
Ask for eagle help when:
The details of day-to-day living have you feeling weighed down and you have lost sight of the larger perspective.
You are faced with a number of tough choices regarding work, relationships or life transitions.
You're not sure how to integrate recent spiritual insights and revelations into your day-to-day life.
You feel you are expending way too much energy to get the job done.
Access eagle's power by…
Being patient. Know that this animal spirit guide does not come easily or immediately.
Writing down judgments you have about others and noting how these are projections of similar aspects or traits you deny are part of yourself.
Each evening, recording a list of 10 things for which you are grateful that happened that day. Do this every night for at least 21 days.
Go to an area where you can observe all that is below - the top of a tall building, a hilltop - and take in as much as you can. Take several slow, deep breaths as you do.

My Gratitude towards Ron for his spiritual dedication and craftsmanship to honor his heritage, lineage and the true aboriginal people of this land. I went through a brief spell of frustration and expectations wanting to have this medicine fan in my possession as soon as possible. Sometimes something so potent and good is worth waiting for. I have received this beautiful creation from Spirit with an array energy pulsating from it. I am a energetic medicine healer who is very conscious of the objects I work with. This Being I now have in my possession is no longer an object. It will be an ally in my healing work. Thank you Ron for your work and honorable service to Earth and the people who are choosing to live in harmony with her. This Medicine Fan is a true work of art made with intention and love.
